The Unspoken cry

Under the scorching sun
The walk made him sweat
Unwilling feet moved with laboured deft

Hardly managing the dangling heft
The only way to save whatever money left

So gapping was his societal rift
He felt embarrassed even to ask for a lift

With forced obedience ; Trained brilliance
Tuned performance; under heedless guidence
He had many a thing to fake a balance

Thoroughbred at notorious asylems  to succeed
From the invisible shackles he was never freed

Tailor made lack of confidence
A poster child of societal influence

An imitation of someone his parents copied with reverence
thrown into the hostile world searching his relevance

Induced with qualifications thoughtlessly agreed
Unsuspectingly indoctrinated into faulty breed

Impatiently counting on luck to lead
He saw hoards like him fighting the same need

Their skills judged redundant and routine
They were all fit for a job just taken away by a machine

Anger anxiety disappointment and guilt
Realising how futile the effort over a decade they built

Retreated the victimized restless desperate mob
with pieces of papers in hand and a suppressed sob

Death in the Hourglass

The light is fading slowly

The image of the way ahead darkened as I tightly shut my eyes and try to move my feet  in vain

The feet that I don't feel any more

I don't know when my breathing turned panting

Every breath shortened
Every moment the pain worsened

It was fear
Fastening its coils around me

I struggle in desperation to get out of the ever-deepening quicksand of self-doubt while the heaviness of expectations on my shoulders viciously wanting to bury me.

A competition to death it is
With those who don't share the same track
For some, it is a hard land
Some were on a horse
Some sat in a car
Some could sail  through
Some just flew by
Some own the entire arena, no bother of movement

My path was different as I am so
Mine is a mire

I tried to run, compete to win
In a race to be judged successful

My wounds of past bleeding in the arena
I am the ecstasy for the bloodless half deads.
Lifeless.. mundane.. monotonous
Screaming in joy like a screeching machine in everlasting fatigue

I can no more see a thing
The sand is already over my head
Darkness had now dawned
I only feel the leeches of insult draining my blood

My mind went numb thoughts hazy
I can only hear the world yelling "Lazy"...

Sucked slowly into the dimension of death
Peaceful.. silent.. dark.. depth

Millennial life

Waiting for weekend to hate monday
Counting days left for the next pay

An infinite loop, no dead end
Strong or weak, the heads must bend

Faking smiles for status update
Like mongering posts an untold mandate

Crashed hopes and passions, left a desperate mob
we joined to land into the "perfect job"

Someone profits from my lifetime loss
Is living to pay bills the only cause?

The struggle is real
Its mention, trivial

Breaking the rules is everyone's quest
Surviving it is the real test

What kind of design orders everyone to struggle
To make few live in a happy bubble

Time, passions, crafts or arts
We are all whores selling different parts.

The Tryst

He strode quickly

Through the Bush,by the tree, over pebble and dead wood..
Bending twisting and breaking, his path was no good

All a small barriers than the one to cross he should.
As a test waiting for him was the forest stood.

Dodging, running, jumping as fast as he would
To reach the place he wished he already could

Brimming eagerness was too hard to contain
He smashed through like a rolling stone atop mountain.

He had to cross the river

The overjoyed rocks took a dip in the water when his feet stepped on them
As he tried to reach the hands of a bending stem..

Sprung him into air flexing its branch like a bow
a rustle of happiness the tree made with brotherly Love

The lush riverside grass gently received his feet
Made sure he landed smooth and neat

Just like little lanterns brighten up a street
showing the way flew by him a firefly fleet

Though notorious for being wild
she's still a mother and at heart she is mild
Watching him the forest smiled
As lovingly as a mother to her child..

PART 2

The clouds parted letting out curious moonlight
A flutter of intrigued sparrows halted their flight

Sense of accomplishment and nostalgia pulsed in him
Recovering from the sprint he laid in the dim

Ages seem passed, his memory didn't fade a bit
Recalling memories he caressed the dry log she used to sit

Like a bee in the flower he loves the best
He waited for his sunshine in the dark with zest

Gleefully adorning the beautiful love nest,
The thick woods and hallow winds woke up from rest.

wind blew through the trees clearing the glade
with flowers for her a way he made

Seconds had between them hours to fill
For the restless lover it was hard to be still.

PART 3

To hear the notes of her footsteps his ears were athirst
Still intoxicated since he heard them first

Anxious eyes waited for their mirror
none other has ever shown them so clearer

To indulge in her fragrance longed his nose
When she comes into his arms and he holds her close

No word could dare to give the taste of her lips a name
For they can put best works of honey bees to shame

So smooth warm and soft was her touch
Yet she could send ripple of shock with a nudge

Lost in her were his body and mind
He felt the toughest of his lives knots at once unwind

Lept off reality on wings of dreams
Gliding in imagination, dipping into love's warm beams

Part 4

There is a reason for the desperation
A mix of joy and apprehension

Their subtle fight for liberation
Against divide and discrimination

Surrounded by hostile intimidation
They were pushed to take a big decision

Her father said "he is not our kind.."
For you to choose many noble men lined"

We are the purest after the God
We order and they have to nod

Never you dare to hurt our pride
Never let the devil be your guide

I warn you not to break our stride
You can only be a nobelman's bride"

He dragged her by hair and threw her in a cell
She sent a him a dove to end this hell

She promised to meet him at their place
Her spirit desperately needed a Breathing space

He reached the spot under the fir
So, here he was, waiting for her

PART 5

He woke himself stood up alert
The forest around didn't look inert

Faint sound of foot steps he thought he heard
A dim spark of light flickered and then blurred

Excitement and caution
Egerness and restrain
A mix of many emotions
Causing tremendous strain

He crouched behind the bushes
With his eyes piercing into the dark
Footsteps coming closer
But the woods reveald only darkness stark

Finally

A little lamp and a figure in black veil
Stood on the flower way were feet so frail

His bloom of spring, his rain of love,
His warm summer his winter's festive ave

Beauties of the forest gave respectful bow
Before his eyes she stood now

The blooms received feet of their intended guest
The jungle woke up to a joyous fest

They hugged...

Like a droplet in a waterfall that became one with air
Like a raindrop in an oyster made a Pearl so fair

Like a sprinkle that met roots of a little sprout
She washed away his heart's long drought

Part 6

A twig broke at a distance
Hard foot step broke its resistance

Feet moved in forest, Swift and Stealthy
Tough feet that worked for the wealthy

Broad shoulders that could move a boulder
Deep scars from battles and hearts left to moulder

The unsuspecting couple had let their guard down
Mercenaries surrounded them by order of the crown

"Daughter" he screamed

Tremors of fear made her nerves tremble
In shock he recognised her father's grumble

"One last chance for you to come back
To redeem your sin, for the noble blood you seem to lack

Dont be a disgrace to our bloodline..
His life is now a choice of mine"

The princess spoke

"Is this what a loving father means?
Marrying me off as one of someone's many queens?"

Bloodline taught you nothing but empty pride..
Whoever told you otherwise has always lied

Look at me father

I am your child you so loved and cared
Am I not worthy of some pride to be spared

I love you as much as I do love him
But you filled yourself with prejudice to the brim

Your thought is clouded with anger and hate
How you think you will end up at heaven's gate?"

"Enough"

I am bound by the laws of ancestral code
There is no way I can let my honour erode

Tears in me have long gone dry
I dont regret if you cry or die

Part 7

He ordered death
The couple held their breath

They both drew out swords and began their fight
The fierce princess and her mighty dark knight

She was his shield, he was her sword
Together they have slashed through the horde

The swords swung in a rhythm,
the warrior couple was in a brutal trance..
They winked and smiled at each other
even the battle looked like a dance..

The armours got pierced, a spear passed through both heart
She went numb, it was her father's blow she was unable to thwart..

"You have pushed me to this point of bother
You made me become a cold hearted father"

His pride was satisfied as the couple fell on ground
But, for that brief instance they were together bound

His blood flooded into her
both hearts got unified..
The father couldnot see any difference in blood
His prejudiced convictions crucified

The father suddely felt a deep sense of defeat
The ground at once sank under his feet

The warrior princess had a smile on her face
Her father had knit them together on death's lace

The Noble blood decended on to the forest floor
She couldn't bear the pour

The small lamp fell and broke..
The flame escaped into its new found freedom..

The dry logs, dead wood the bent stems of the Fir

The grass, the couple and the heartbroken father,

The glade, the hill and every reach of the forest,
got visited for the last time by the flame..

The flame of grief engulfed the forest and just like the imaginary fortress of prejudices built by men..
Everything turned into ash..

Except for one sprout that stemed out of the puddle of the couple's blood

As a hope
As a question it grew..
Along with it the entire forest..

Resonating one question..

How does pure love amount to a sin
This fight within the human can he ever win?

The Trap (Part - 1)

I will never leave you said my pen.
I gave a careless nod and said catch me if you can
Behind the bushes of time there and then
I saw money laughing at us as mockingly as it can

She was watching me? The popular girl?
new naughty ideas began to swirl

I excused myself, pen said she will wait
Ran after money, fell for her bait
Every once in a while she would come near
Say something and run before I hear

Word of Love
I thought it was
She came with a smile and hugged me warm
I wished to soak all this storm

She took me to the brilliant house she built
Where everything straight had a twist and tilt
Beautifully carved name on blood dripping bone novelty
Name of the house read Society

She brought a funny garland of obligations
Mostly dark with few tiny  shiny situations
She put it round my neck , gave a pat of appreciation
Intoxicated did I realise my position?

A leash of responsibilities she got me hooked to
Slowly I realised what she was up to
Chains of duties tied to a job
I saw I was not alone but part of a desperate mob

Wagging their tails of surrender
Were there everyone young and older.
All in a line of no order
Waiting for her to drop them a favour

The Road Mistaken

The Road Mistaken

The below article of mine was published in Readoo.in website in the first week of January 2017.

"There are two things  that are infinite, The Universe and Human Stupidity,  I'm not sure about Universe" - Einstein

I was wandering over my facebook newsfeed in wonder of what am I supposed to do first  on this new year day of January 1st 2017 and accidentally saw a video link of a David Suzuki stating Economics is a Brain damage.

Feeling intrigued I clicked on the video link and watched it completely. To be honest, I was dumbstruck by the sheer accuracy with which he justified his stand. I was also saddened and more than being concerned, I got scared about the future.

We, the humans, who rather arrogently claim to be the most intelligent species on Earth have chosen a path of self destruction in the name of Economic progress.

David Suzuki stated, economics simply ignores the essential components of the nature such as The Ozone layer, the micro organisms, the top soil ecology, the endangered species etc as externalities. The impending problems faced by the world in varied forms due to imbalances in nature caused by human activities are simply externalities. Are we so immune to the consequences of our actions? Certainly not. I am quite sure  that igrorance and indifferance is the exact reason why countries or "Economies" do not take the inevitable repercussions of hazardous human activities with the seriousness that it deserves.

Economics states that resources are limited and wants are unlimited, the unlimited wants create more necessities which result in research and invention. Once an invention is made, it is grabbed witn both hands by the markets globally over time. Huge consumer bases encourages more production , profits catapult the markets, economies boom, its that simple.

Biologically, when a species finds favourable environment to sustain, it reproduces at a rapid pace, that's exactly what we have done over time.
and since our wants are unlimited, the more we got comfortable, the more  comforts we wanted. Basic needs no longer include just food, clothing and shelter, more commodities intrude into this list with passing generations. The corporations that manufacture these commodities need naturally occuring rawmaterials which are bought with money and in the process not only the natural resources are getting depleted, but also the atmosphere is getting polluted. However, these corporations make profit and help economy grow by providing more jobs which inturn creates more comfort seeking customers. Meanwhile the political sphere has to cater to the population and the corporates that funded them as well. They should make the situations look good so that they can be in power for few more years. The fate of us, the comon people reminds me of the famous phrase from the movie The Matrix "People are so hopelessly dependent on the system that they will fight to protect it". This forms the never ending vicious circle, gulping the natural resources and leaving rubbish all over the planet. Moreover we have nationalities, borders competing with each other to gain the highest GDP, GNP and so on. We are blindly racing to the edge of the cliff and still think that the road never ends.

The very intelligent human species has failed to unite as one. Borders created for politics divided us. Properties bought by the corporates are turning forest cover into percentages of profits. Polluting the air we breath, water we drink, land we live on. Everything has a price tag, the price tags that contribute to economic growth and we are trained to be proud of them.

After all that the global economies have said to have achieved, how many of the people that tirelessly work for this growth are actually happy with their lives ? That is the serious question need to be answered. Money has been made primary goal in life. 2% of world population controls the rest of the world, and everyone wants to get into that 2%. In the process we forget that neither money nor Economy are a natural phenomenon. They are created by humans. We cannot transform every thing into money just because we can be rich for a short period of time.

We have to realise that we are not the lone hires of this planet, we have our fellow species who are paying the price of our so called Economic growth.
The man made concepts of Money and Economy  have outpaced nature. Unlimited wants feeding on limited resources is already showing it's consequences in the form of climate change and pollution. We have to come up with a serious global effort to counter his situation.

I would like to mention the old Indian phrase as conclusion. "When the last tree is cut down, the last fish eaten and the last stream poisoned, you will realize that you cannot eat money.”

My journey to Atheism

This was officially the first article I have written, it was published in Reado.in.

All the information is only my personal perspective out of my own experiences.

I have been to a missionary school and an RSS supported school, both places gave me education. Yes there were prayer meetings at both places but I never cared about what I was mumbling as I was busy with my friends all the time, for me god was a scary one who spied on you all the time just like the Sports teacher with a stick in hand. God was as mysterios to me in those days as the algebra.

I was more curious about Tom sawyer adventures than the speeches on Jesus at missionary school.
I was more obsessed with Sherlock Holmes novels than the rituals performed  at Hindu school.

We as kids did not care about cultures, religions, casts and ideologies. That's when we were truly human.

When I was told Jesus was the only true god at the missionary school, I was Confused for the first time why the regular gods at home were not mentioned. So I was reluctant to agree.
I was frustrated while listening to an old man giving hate speech on Muslims at the Hindu school after Kargil war, for he himself had stated "Vasudhaika Kutumbam" or world is one family.

The more I was into religious beliefs, the divide among the people was more visible. I was always asked to shut my mouth and follow what is said by my parents when I questioned them, even when they did answer, the answers were not satisfactory and had no factual evidence. I gave up questioning just like every kid and started believing god, the easiest option available. I was against other religions and took great pride in the cast I belonged to. I was convinced our culture was under threat.
Still somewhere I was reluctant to be so, I was not happy and most of the time I was disappointed.

How Hiranyaksha a mythical demon rolled Earth like a carpet and hid it in the seas? How the Noah's arc was able to hold all the animals on earth at a random location in a 45 foot boat. Why a loving god ordered his followers to kill the non believers.

Then, History started to come up with evidences of religious and racial cruelity. I came to know how' http://www.readoo.in/2017/01/the-road-mistaken Red Indians, Aborigines,  Mexican tribes were eliminated by European explorers. How Islamic kings have converted people forcefully and the disgusting practice of untouchablity.
The painful death sentences given to people who questioned religion etc.

I have realised that I was in support of a system that has done nothing but spreading hatred and divide among people to protect interests of powerful people in its support.

Religious beliefs turned me into an idiot, while education made me a constant questioner.I was appreciated and encouraged on questioning during science classes, I could feel the difference between religions and science.
I was never told to shut up and listen in science class unless the teacher had no Idea about the subject. I came to know that it's the same thing with other religions also, there are divisions there too, they were also not allowed to question. This pushed me to look for answers.

That was the moment I have decided to go by evidence and not mere fairy tales. I stopped doing poojas, running around trees expecting good times, reading zodiac based future predictions etc.

I started questioning again.
It took me 25 years of education and rational thought process along with habit of questioning everything to  get out of the mire of communal hatred.

Religion stands on two strong pillars
1. Desire
2. Fear

As we humans began to flourish into civilizations, there was a need to inculcate order, since no human was immune to desires and fears, which was realised by few clever people of past, the concept of religion was designed and propagated.

With time few people wanted to take advantage of this system as they saw profit and a great opportunity to exercise power on large groups of people.
During the dark ages religions flourished like mushrooms, wars and battels happened to impose one's religion / authority over the other through out the world.

With advent of scientific temperament in people, religions are constantly getting punched in the face, with scientific breakthroughs from Heliocentric theory to Gravitational waves.

Once the people get educated enough to realise the facts, it won't take long time for religions to fade away.
